I have always been someone who notices what is happening beneath the surface. Whether it is the words being spoken, what remains unspoken, or patterns that emerge over time, I am naturally drawn to understanding the deeper story. At the heart of who I am is a desire to listen, connect, and create a space where people feel heard and understood without judgment. My passion for this work stems from a curiosity about people and their stories, a deep belief in the power of healing and resilience, and the privilege of walking alongside individuals as they navigate challenges, discover their strengths, and create meaningful change in their lives.
I have been working in the counseling field since 2013 in a variety of roles, including clinical/counseling, supervision, and leadership positions. My experience working with individuals affected by addiction and co-occurring mental health concerns led me to develop a deeper understanding of trauma and the ways painful experiences can impact a person's emotions, relationships, behaviors, and sense of self.
I believe that profound growth and healing can happen when we sense that our story is truly acknowledged with care. People need a safe space where they can be honest about their experiences, feel validated, and begin to believe in themselves. Simultaneously, growth often requires gently exploring difficult areas, recognizing patterns, and developing the skills needed to create change in everyday life.
My approach to therapy is non-judgmental, perceptive, direct, thoughtful, inquisitive, and collaborative. I do not believe therapy is about giving advice or telling someone what they should do. Instead, I work alongside my clients to understand where their struggles come from, identify patterns that may no longer be serving them, process difficult experiences, and develop practical tools they can actually use.
Many clients have shared that they feel safe being honest with me, challenged without feeling judged or pushed, and genuinely understood. I believe compassion and accountability can exist together. A strong therapeutic relationship creates the foundation for exploring difficult experiences while also building the confidence needed for growth.
I specialize in working with adults navigating trauma, PTSD, addiction and recovery, co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and major life transitions. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and Certified Personality Disorder Treatment Provider (C-PD). I am also currently completing training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
At Reflective Practice Counseling Services, my goal is to provide a therapeutic space that feels safe, honest, calm, and thoughtful—a place where you can better understand yourself, heal from the past, and develop the skills needed to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
